Dear Neighbor,
The pool season is here and if you have been able to visit the pool, we hope you are really enjoying it and have seen the remarkable improvements we have made in the off-season. If you have yet to get there, we sure hope you have renewed your membership and are ready to take the plunge! The water is just right!
New Check In Procedures
We wanted to make sure you knew there is a new check in system thanks to one of our many valued members who developed it on his own time and at no cost to the Association. There are membership cards at the front desk and for each member and there is a bar code which you scan when you enter. We keep the cards on file at the desk at all times. For every person coming to the pool over the age of 2, the guards should be ensuring your bar code is scanned and your guest card is punched for each guest.
Guest Pass Use
Guest passes are for non-Pleasant Valley Residents only. So if you have a PV neighbor who is not a member, they may not use a guest pass and therefore may not enjoy the pool. The only exception this year is for the End of the School year party Tuesday June 18, 2013.
Membership Value - Dormant Fees
Since we do not have an Homeowner's Association (HOA) our pool expenses are paid for by our members and through our volunteer members who organize fundraisers and run concessions. As a member you are investing as a shared owner of the pool and the surrounding property which is different than other local pools. If you were a member last year and choose not to rejoin this year, we encourage you to pay your dormant fee ($150) to remain a member of the pool. You are not entitled to use the pool, but you retain ownership and your rights as entitled through our bylaws.
Board Position Open
One of our board members needed to resign, so we have an opening for you. We really could use your time and talent to help us this summer. If you would be willing to fill a position through September, please send us an email or come to our Board meeting at the pool Wednesday June 12 at 7pm. If you have any questions about the position and what is needed, please feel free to ask me or any of our board members. You'll generally find one of us at the pool or we'd be glad to meet you at a convenient time.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
We value you and your membership of PVRA; please address any questions, comments, compliments, or concerns to info@pvrec.org. Please know the Board of Directors are all volunteers and members of the pool. We work hard to make our community have the best facility within every physical and fiscally conscious means possible. If you can help in any way, please let us know, as many times members can help in small ways - a simple project or a small repair. There are also volunteer forms at the guard desk. We will continue to improve even more with your help!
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Cox,
PVRA President
