Board Roles

President

  • Preside at all meetings of the Board of Directors and the Association
  • See that orders and resolutions of the Board are carried out
  • Sign all leases, mortgages, deeds and other written instruments
  • Cosign all checks and promissory notes, along with such other persons as designated by the Board of Directors.

Vice-President
  • Act in the place of the president in the event of his absence.
  • Perform other duties as may be required by the Board.

Secretary
  • Record the votes and keep the minutes of all meetings and proceedings of the Board and of the members.
  • Serve notice of meetings of the Board and of the members.
  • Keep appropriate, current records showing the members of the Association together with their address.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Board.

Treasurer
  • Receive and deposit in appropriate bank accounts all monies of the Association.
  • Disburse such funds as directed by resolution of the Board of Directors
  • Keep proper books of account.
  • Cause an annual audit of the Association books to be made by a qualified entity independent of the Board of Directors at the completion of each fiscal year.
  • Prepare an annual budget and a statement of income and expenditures to be presented to the membership at its regular annual meeting.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Board.

Membership
  • Regulate and confirm membership in accordance with these By‑laws.
  • Establish membership criteria for potential Pleasant Valley Recreation Association members not holding title to property within Pleasant Valley Subdivision.
  • Administer membership affairs of the Association.
  • Establish membership budget.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Board.

Operations
  • Establish rules and regulations for common areas.
  • Establish an operating budget.
  • Settle disputes relating to common areas and recommend disciplinary action for violations.
  • Provide for maintenance of facilities.
  • Coordinate volunteer efforts.
  • Provide for security.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Board.
